Send us a textSeptember 25, 1957...Racial segregation was ruled unconstitional in 1954, but many schools did not implement integration for years after.  Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas made national news when the governor called in the Arkansas National Guard to prevent 9 black students from attending.  It was 3 weeks into the school year before the Little Rock Nine were allowed to attend classes.
