In today’s episode I’m talking to the wonderful Julia Atkinson-Dunn – creator of Studio Home and most recently, author of gardening book Petal Power. It’s actually very hard to articulate who Julia is and what she does in one short sentence. As you will hear in this podcast she’s a self-described writer, designer and artist under the umbrella of Studio Home but I would describe Julia as much more than that – she’s an ideas-maker, collaborator, supporter, curator and champion of local artists and creators. Starting as New Zealand’s first design blog in 2008, Studio Home spent its first nine years connecting its readers with the work of talented NZ and AU creative brands, people, products and projects. Since 2017, Studio Home has become a place where Julia could house all her creative ideas around home, design, and art. And during this time, Julia discovered a love and passion for gardening which led her into a wonderful adventure as a first-time gardener added a whole new element to her creative journey.  This is a little different to my previous episodes, it’s less of a Q&A and more of a conversation between friends about life lived following your creativity passions – and what that actually means.
