In the book of Proverbs Solomon has a lot to say about what we say. Heres an interesting fact: the words, tongue, mouth, lips, and words occur almost 150 times in Proverbs. On average, a reference to speech appears 5 times in each of the 31 chapters. Solomon often times uses a contrastive couplet when speaking of the wise and the foolish. Both types of people reveal themselves to others by how they use their tongues. The point is this… Our tongues are powerful. We can draw people to God by our words and lifestyle or we can draw people away from God by our words and lifestyle.
