As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” In the book of Daniel we can learn a lot about pride and humility… Because of the awful destruction caused by the Babylonians, Babylon became a symbol for the stereotypical enemies of God and His people. (Sodom and Egypt are also used in this way.)
