He was one of the first comic book artists and the creator of the syndicated newspaper comic strip The Spirit.
He also created one of the first graphic novels.
'A Contract with God defined the graphic novel format and cemented it as the potential of comics to be regarded as Art.

Danny is is the Chair of Will Eisner Week.
Danny started as a comic book writer for Marvel. He later became the group editor for the Spider Man books.
He is a teacher of comics and gives presentations on Will Eisner around the country.
