Listen "The Differences Between NRE and NRO Demat Accounts"
Episode Synopsis
NRE (Non-Resident External) and NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary) demat accounts are designed for NRIs but serve different purposes. An NRE demat account is used to invest in Indian stocks using foreign income and allows full repatriation of funds (principal and gains). In contrast, an NRO demat account is used to manage income earned in India (like rent or dividends), and repatriation is restricted and subject to tax. Both accounts require linking to respective NRE or NRO bank accounts and are regulated by RBI and SEBI.:-https://navia.co.in/blog/the-difference-between-nre-and-nro-accounts/
