Listen "Breaking News-$15M Highland Bond Issue Passes-Ainsworth Votes Don’t Count"

Episode Synopsis

On this VIDEO episode of Southeast Iowa Today John
Bain takes you to the Contest Court at the Washington County Iowa Courthouse. In what took approximately 3 hours three men served on the panel: City Councilman of Ainsworth, Iowa, Ronald Greiner, VP of Highland School Board Dan Ruth and Ottumwa, Iowa-based Attorney Richard Gaumer. All three agreed that Mr. Greiner, on behalf of the petitioners protesting the Election, did file his petition and bond on time. Mr. Ruth and Mr. Gaumer voted 2-1 against Mr.
Greiner in having another Election. They instead voted to throw out the Ainsworth voters’ ballots and only go with the Louisa and Johnson Counties’ votes since a majority had voted for the $15 million bond to go through. This all happened January 20, 2025.
