After the Prophet ﷺ and his companions emigrated to Medina, Allah revealed laws with which Muslims must abide by so that they may live together peacefully. This Sūrat serves as a prime example of such intricate laws that detail not just how people should behave with one another, but how they should speak and think about each other.
This lesson expands on the previous lesson and goes further into describing how a Muslim should think about another Muslim. In order to reform our tongues we must also reform our minds so that we are free from judging others and creating false thoughts about them. Purity of the mind will lead to purity of the tongue.
This lesson also details the progression of how backbiting starts and how to cut out this bad habit from the root.
