Listen "Meditation - The Vow of the Tortoise"
Episode Synopsis
While responding to a disciple’s letter in which she shares her encounter with the deep, silent space of the pure being, Swaha reads and comments on the words of Daya.Born around 1700, in India, Daya Bai, “a sweet singer like the Indian koyal,” said Osho, was Charandas’s disciple. She was an enlightened woman who, through poetry, not only shared her devotion to her Master, but also spoke about the importance of withdrawing from all our restless activities outside and dedicating ourselves to stop, relax and go inward.Whoever appreciated her poetry, Osho used to say, would also taste their feelings, and if they let a spark of these verses fall into themselves, their darkness would be completely destroyed. After all, as Vasant Swaha puts it, “silence with love goes deep, [...] that is the whole thing to remember: remember yourself, remember your heart, remember your breath, remember the master. Anything that brings you back to the moment.”Vasant Swaha is a modern mystic sharing his love, joy, and wisdom in retreats. This talk was from a Satsang during the Summer Retreat at Dharma Mountain, Norway, on the 21st of July of 2012. For more information visit www.vasantswaha.net
