This is the trailer for the upcoming Chicago Partnership for Health Promotion (CPHP)* podcast series for 2021 for home vegetable gardeners that will also cover an array of topics related to food literacy. The series will be co-hosted by Orrin Williams, Food Systems Coordinator and soil scientist Dr. Akilah Martin. The primary objective of the series is to expand the number of home-based backyard gardeners. The focus of the vegetable gardening episodes will be how to use fabric grow bags as the preferred medium for gardening but we will also cover raised bed gardening as well as for those interested,  in ground gardening . With the in ground gardeners we will discourage them doing so unless they have embarked upon a complete testing regimen and using those test results to determine how to proceed safely. In Chicago and many places throughout the Rust Belt of old industrial and manufacturing cities the soils are often contaminated.
