Listen "Right On Cue: Episode Nine !!"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of Right on Cue, we journey into how art acts as a vessel for
intergenerational storytelling and the transmission of culture through music.
We begin with Sweetie Darling, a classical romcom brought to life by the
versatile Bongani Mbatha. Next, we have UNSUNG, a moving musical
theatre production from Buffalo City, blending choreography, music, and
true stories to honour one of Africa’s great liberation icons.
We then take you to a stirring choir performance that follows rehearsals
with Dumza Maswana. Captivated by their harmonies, we hear from
conductor Kepa, choir member Phumelela Tsili, and long-time supporter
Praise Mathebula. Adding to that, the National Arts Festival hosted its first
Igwijo competition for performers under the age of 21. The event included
performances by The Soil, gospel artist Bethusile Mcinga, and was hosted by
comedian Vusi Oulik. And last but not least we have the acclaimed drummer
Sphelelo “Lelo” Mazibuko who steps into the spotlight with his debut album,
FACES. Whether it’s music, drama, or the stories that connect us, Right on
Cue brings you what matters most with heart, humour, and homegrown
brilliance. Cue Radio on RMR
