Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!It has been a while since Sonic the Hedgehog has been an opponent for Mario. Ever since Sega withdrew from hardware and transformed into a publisher, Sonic and Mario became friends. Sure we had them competing in the same games like Sonic and Mario at the Olympics or Sonic being a guest character in Super Smash Bros, but this is the first time in a long time that Sonic has taken Mario head on in a competing title. Somewhat reminiscent of the SNES/Genesis console wars, Sega even resurrected an old TV spot from those days to advertise this match up! I felt it was time to officially put them head to head in this newest entry in the Versus Mode series.
