The film focuses on Lois Wilson as she demonstrates her commitment to her husband Bill, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) despite the chaos and the broken promises that result from his alcoholism. Lois's strength played a pivotal role in Bill's survival and co-founded Al-Anon.
The story reminded me that love cannot alone cure addiction—it couldn't cure mine. I share a personal story of my desperation during the last days of active drinking.
