Episode Synopsis

Living with health-related fear, like the possibility of having another stroke, quietly overwhelms me. The phrase "live like you'll die tomorrow" implies making the most of today, but for me, it feels more like a countdown clock than inspiration. Instead of freeing me, this urgency creates pressure to rush everything like it’s all going to end before I’m done, leaving me emotionally burnt out and with undue physical stress and pain. Depression thrives in my mental chaos, where each day becomes a race against time rather than a step toward peace and acceptance.Shifting to a mindset of “living like you’ll live forever” offers me a chance to imagine life as a story being written. This perception of time allows me to set long-term goals that feel attainable, while also grounding myself in short-term ambitions that anchor me to right now. I thrive when I have something to look forward to today, like planning a new creative project this week, and something meaningful on the horizon, like finishing the first draft of my memoir this year. Both the near and far horizons set a landscape that is manageable to me. Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and YouTube. For more information, visit me at recoverydailypodcast.com or email me at [email protected].Visit my Etsy shop, Recovery Upcycling. https://www.etsy.com/shop/RecoveryUpcyclingFor more information about vestibular disorders, visit https://vestibular.org.#MindfulHealing #ChronicIllnessWarrior #MentalHealthAwareness #HealingJourney #LiveWithIntention #SurvivorStrong #RewriteYourStory #MemoirInProgress #SlowLivingMovement #PurposeDrivenLife
