Listen "Rachel's Recovery Résumé"
Episode Synopsis
What are we left with once we've practiced Recovery Daily techniques for seeking joy and serenity? Rachel discusses that once she was introduced to the feeling of serenity by clearing out her dark place, she was better able to listen to her inner voice.
Today as she faces another transition in her life as a result of her stroke, she realizes that her experience with alcoholism, stroke survival, mental illness, and eating disorder has dropped her off exactly where she's supposed to be. Rachel has parachuted into an opportunity in her life, and she never would have had the courage to jump from the plane on her own—she was pushed!
In this episode, Rachel shares how her experiences in life thus far are far more valuable than any degree she could have gotten:
Her sensitivity, compassion, and empathy that used to be considered weaknesses allow her to help others recover a little more comfortably.
Her experience as a Marketing Director enables her to broadcast her voice globally.
Her experience writing, communicating, and executing corporate growth strategies support her desire to globalize a united recovery community for individuals with dual-diagnosis.
Her years of creative writing provide the confidence needed to author a book that merges these narratives into a cohesive guide for navigating life with physical impairments, mental illness, and addiction.
