Listen "Living In The Past: The Nostalgia Trap"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I share about an enlightening meditation session with Tamara Levitt on Calm. I open up about my longing to relive the "good old days" of my past, from the coziness of my childhood holidays to the boundless love I felt waking up my kids for elementary school. Yet, through this meditation, I discovered that while it's ok to cherish those memories, trying to recreate them or live in them is bound to leave us feeling unfulfilled. With honesty and insight, I explore how accepting life's inevitable changes, including my stroke and adapting to a disability, can lead me to appreciate each day as a new life. Echoing the mantra of a friend, "I only have today," I discuss the importance of living in the moment and creating new experiences. My attitude, my approach to each day, is what ultimately changes my experience and leaves something joyful to remember. Join me for an inspiring reflection on the memories waiting to be created in the here and now.
