It proposes requiring all individuals to provide in-person documentary proof of U.S. citizenship—such as a birth certificate or passport—when registering to vote or updating voter registration information. This requirement would apply even though voters in every state are already required to affirm or verify their citizenship status when registering.🔹 Potential Impacts of the SAVE ActDisenfranchisement of Eligible Voters: The SAVE Act could disenfranchise millions of Americans, particularly those who may not have immediate access to the necessary documentation.
