I’ve been thinking about the discord in our homes, in our communities, in our world. I hear so much in my coaching about all the conflict we are all experiencing with being cooped up with family, around our election, around how people are responding to the pandemic, around racial inequality, around how we blame others for our problems.
Oh friends, there is such division. There is so much pain. It doesn’t matter the situation, the nature of the conflict, it doesn’t matter which side you are on; I hope this message is for everyone.
I want to talk about the courage to be respectful today. We’re going to discuss what happens in our brain when we disagree with someone, why we immediately rush to defend our way of thinking, and how we can change our response to disagreements if we’d like.
