David and I were visiting my Aunt Louise, Uncle Bill and cousin Marie in Kamloops last summer and checked out a "Down Home Kitchen Party" music event one afternoon where we met Cheryl and her husband Lesra. We exchanged contact info and a few days later Cheryl and I sat down to talk about what she has learned about her African Nova Scotian heritage and growing up Black in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
