On Highway 89 we showcase works of opera composers who also wrote art songs. In this case, that’s Giacomo Puccini, Richard Strauss, Francis Poulenc, and Carlisle Floyd. Our guests are soprano Mindy Ammons and pianist Barbara Allen, who chat with host Judith Olauson Tourney about teaching music classes, Robert Louis Stevenson, and shaping music like taffy. They are joined by violinist Aubrey Smith.
