In today's passage, Jesus reveals more about the final judgement, and He offers stark contrasts throughout. This judgement will not be one of degrees. There will be those who are declared righteous, because they have put their trust in Jesus for their salvation, and there will be those who are declared accursed, because they assumed they could earn their way to heaven or be saved by association with the church or other believers. This message should be a wakeup call for everyone – believers and unbelievers alike. We all want to be ready for Christ's return, and He could come at any day.
