Episode Synopsis
I have just leapt out of the bath (middle of the day baths...one of the joys of being your own boss!) in order to record this episode!
I felt a bit low vibe, out of alignment, so a bath was just the ticket. And BOOM! Inspiration for this episode struck!
I KNEW I had to talk about how I moved from perfectionist coach to resilient AF CEO - are you curious how I made the transition and are looking to make it too?
In this episode I share some examples of how I have built this resilience...
Such as recently when I accidentally left the wrong greeting on an email send. Instead of beating myself up about it, I looked at the bigger picture and talked myself through the likely impact of what had happened (spoiler alert: it was fine!).
This is worlds apart from corporate Jo - there was no room for mistakes there. If I made one, it felt like the end of the world.
And then there was that time I was ghosted by a prospect...
We had a fantastic discovery call, then silence...I was bold, and pushed for a second call, which we had - and it was also great! But then nothing....
And I never heard from her again!
Clearly we weren't aligned, and this experience gave me the opportunity to build a bit more resilience. It isn't a shameful situation - it's just something that happened, and I trust the universe that it was for the best.
Sometimes as solopreneurs, mistakes like this do happen. We strive to do the best we can, but we've got to be realistic. Perfectionism can keep you stuck small and, as solopreneurs, that's not where we want to be.
To be resilient AF, there's also a lot to be said for being confident. That confidence - knowing your message and trusting in it - is what helps get you through the little mistakes that happen along the way.
I KNOW certain standards have to be met, but I am SO grateful to be in a world now where I get the chance to make mistakes. In fact, it's vital to encourage ourselves to be brave and risk making them, because if they happen we get the opportunity to learn and grow. And that's what we want to keep on doing...
