Philippians 2:5 (NASB95) — “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”Jesus, the Son of God, left heaven’s glory to walk among us—not as a king in a palace, but as a servant. He “emptied Himself,” choosing to live in full obedience to the Father, depending completely on the Holy Spirit (Philippians 2:5–8). He humbled Himself and followed the Father’s will—even when it led to the cross.This is the heart of the incarnation: God becoming man, not to be served, but to serve and to save (Matthew 1:21). His birth was love. His life was obedience. His death was the ultimate act of surrender.But that’s not where the story ends.Because Jesus obeyed fully, God exalted Him completely (Philippians 2:9–11). He rose again, ascended to heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess: Jesus Christ is Lord.This truth should shape how we live. Paul tells us to have the same attitude as Jesus.
