Theologian J.I. Packer once wrote, “God is not just unless He inflicts upon all sin and wrongdoing the penalty it deserves.” This is the doctrine of eternal judgement—Hell. While 89% of Americans believe in Heaven, just 73% say they believe in Hell, and only 4% believe they will go there. Matthew, however, records the words of Jesus when he said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it” (Matthew 7:13).
