On this podcast we reflect on the life, work and politics of Assata Shakur who made her transition on Sept 25, 2025. Cultural educator James Counts Early studied at Morehouse College in Atlanta, earning his B.A. in 1969. After graduation, Early attended Howard University, where he received his M.A. degree, and then studied for his Ph.D. degree. Early is the former Assistant Secretary for Education and Public Service at the Smithsonian Institution.
