Listen "Episode 25: Duel (1971) "
Episode Synopsis
Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews!!! This week we are (finally) embarking on our unpopular but inevitable theme of "Trucker Movies" and to prove this theme is not as boring as people might think, we are starting off with the directorial debut of the great Steven Speilberg: Duel (1971). This film was not as action packed as I was expecting, but what I got in return was a psychological thriller that leans more on the mind games than the chase scenes. Not that there aren't plenty of chase scenes, but the focus here is on the situation our unfortunate main character finds himself in. I gave this film an 8/10 for being well crafted, engaging, and trend setting, as this film started an entire lonley highway psycho killer sub genre that is alive and well to this day!
