The author of Hebrews takes us to two mountains. The first is Mount Sinai where God's holy presence descended upon the mountain with fire, wind, and a loud trumpet blast. God's holy justice confronted the Israelites.
The second is Mount Zion. At Zion, the blood of Jesus calls us into the presence of God to join in the angelic worship. The great High Priest calls us to approach God's throne boldly.
We have a choice. Will we turn our backs on Zion and place our hope in Sinai, or will we find the peace of God's presence through Jesus?
