Listen "Uiui 4 - Jennifer Te Atamira Ward-Lealand"
Episode Synopsis
New Zealander of the year 2020, Jennifer Te Atamira Ward-Lealand has worked extensively in theatre, film, television, music and radio for 40 years. In 2008 she made a commitment to learning te reo Māori with her friend Jo Pannell. I consider Te Atamira one of our many te reo Māori champions, who is promoting the use and normalisation of the language in a number of different spaces. She speaks about how learning te reo was the pathway to understanding more about her own Pākehā heritage, her standing place in this land, her Aotearoatanga, and much more. Whakarongo mai. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
