The summary of what God was teaching Abram in our text is to develop seeing eyes. Two critical things to have in this season are eyes that see and ears that hear. Once you guarantee these, there's no limit to what you can achieve. The bible says, "Ears that hear and eyes that see, the Lord has made them both" (Prov. 20:12). Having made both, He wants you to develop the ability to use them to navigate life's terrain. God was literally saying to Abram, "Opportunities abound in this place if only you can open your eyes to see them." Many of us are doing badly today, not for lack of opportunities, but for our inability to see them. Our focus is not intentional enough to see. God was saying to Abram, "It can't get any worse. All you need to pull through are right before you in this place." Can I prophesy to someone right now, you don't need another marriage to be fulfilled. Work on it rather than quit! You don't need to change location to get fixed. Look deeply and intently at what you have, and you'd find the solutions you seek. Although, it may appear contentious with no advantages in your favour, God says, "Stay focused and look at it again for as far as you can see will be yours." In other words, your redemption is predicated on your ability to see correctly as you focus. Peradventure you've a faulty vision, Jesus had to touch the man who saw men like trees to help him see correctly. He can still touch and correct your vision if only you'd invite Him to. When you look intently with the eyes of the Spirit, what you thought you've lost to your competitors becomes your biggest comeback and victory. So be focused and look again, beloved.
