Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better for me than now.’ INSPIRATION: The continuous return of Gomer to harlotry was never tied to her husband's inability to love her the right way or his inability to perform his responsibility but on her poor judgment of her new found status. Although picked from the slum, her mind remained in the cabbage! Renewal of her mind and cultural shift hadn't occurred yet; she loved and preferred her shackles to her freedom. That's what most of us do till date. Our thoughts and its resultant outcome are linked to our backgrounds and predominant thought patterns. You cannot see or operate as Head when all you have is tail thoughts; you cannot aspire to new levels you've not conditioned your thoughts or mind to accept as your new reality. Until the prodigal son changed his thinking, he always went back to eating pig's food; unless Gomer changes her mind, harlotry would never leave her. Put her in the Palace, she'd crawl back to the hoods again and again. The process of mind renewal starts with decluttering: tear down all self-limiting and self-defeating thoughts through conscious superimposition of superior thoughts from the Word of God, inspiration books and other developmental materials. Develop self-love and acceptance. Many are into vices today because they feel unloved and underappreciated. Deal with every form of secondary wounding that conditions your mind to drag you into any form of debased and deprived living. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Be intentional with dealing with your weaknesses while accepting your new identity. Celebrate your transformation and walk in its reality. Think with scriptures as you pray concerning your future. As you think so you are (Prov. 23:7). PRAYER: Oh Lord, cause me to see myself in the light and truth of your word always, and help to think right according to the revelation of my new identity. Guide me to deal with my weaknesses so that I don't keep falling and rising, in Jesus name.
