A few lines in a popular worship song inspired today's devotional. It says, "If praise is like perfume, I'll lavish mine on you. Till every drop is gone, I'll pour my love on you." Such a deeply thoughtful meditation sprung into a worship song. Alas! We know how so well how to eulogise our love interests or partners but can hardly spare a thought for God, the One who is, and does everything for us without flinching. Do you really love God as much as you say you do? If yes, one of your litmus test would be your praise life. Praise is intentional. It could be spontaneous, but not casual or cheap. David said, "I will not give God that which cost me nothing." If your praise were to be measured in a scale, what would be its worth? Or what can you give in exchange for all God is and does to you? Praise is beyond the lyrics and rhythm of a song you dance to; it is far beyond what you say in prayers. It is more of a lifestyle and the posture of your heart. Because you may dance and sweat but your heart's posture is what determines the quality and acceptance of your praise.
