Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. Romans 8:19 KJV 19. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. INSPIRATION: Diligence and dedication are tools a workman deploys to promote their skills so they can shine gloriously. "Observe people who are good at their work— skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don’t take a backseat to anyone" (Prov. 22:29 MSG). It is a crime when believers think they only need to be diligent in prayers and fervent in spirit but weak in character and how skillfully they put their gifts to work. Which employer wants to employ an incompetent staff who wouldn't contribute to the business advancement of their company? This year, you must work on your skills so your skills can work for you. Your skills are tools to make you shine, become more visible, and promote you because they'll place demands on you. See how the Passion Translation renders Proverbs 22:29, "If you are uniquely gifted in your work, you will rise and be promoted. You won’t be held back— you’ll stand before kings!" To be uniquely gifted requires a lot of disciplined work on your part. That's where patronage, promotions, and recommendations come from. Work on your skills and gifts so you can come highly recommended. David, with all his anointing, was recommended to King Saul as a very skillful player of harp. It was his skills that got him the recommendation, and not the anointing upon his life. Stop using your spirituality to excuse and cover up your laziness. Favour doesn't come to lazy people who refuse to sharpen their skills and put them to use. Strive to improve yourself. Take those giant steps, one step at a time towards the mark of your goals. Be skillfully visible. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Get new skills or retool old ones to reposition yourself for competitive ventures. Refuse to stay comfortable at your current level. PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me  to be diligent and hard-working; teach my hands to war skillfully and cause my manifestations to be profitable.
