Episode Synopsis

INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Saturday, January 11, 2025 Topic: JESUS, THE SOURCE OF ALL GLORY! Bible Text: John 15:5; John 1:3 NKJV John 15:5 NKJV 5. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 1:3 NKJV 3. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. INSPIRATION: Never in the history of mankind has it become so imperative to emphasise the source, power and the inspiration behind our numerously grand accomplishments. Whilst some get too boastful about their achievements, many fail to realise they couldn't have achieved anything without God. Psalm 44:3 says, "For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them." John reminds us that all things were made through Christ and nothing existed outside him (John 15:5), implying that Jesus is our only source. We can never waive this knowledge aside as it is only a fool that denies his source. Acknowledging this fact shouldn't breed idleness or laziness in us. Rather, while we work, we must recognise that labour alone without God wearies men (Eccl. 10: 15). The Psalmist says, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain" (Psalm 127:1). Why is this crucial as we discuss our source of glory? Jesus says, "For without Me you can do nothing." He wasn't attributing our accomplishments to our smartness, our connections or power but to Himself. Without Him, we're nothing, just like we can't do anything without Him. It is God that works in us to will and do of His good pleasure (Phi. 2:13). This thought should humble you to attribute praises to God, who works in you to make you shine. As we approach this new year, do not lose unnecessary steam running on your own strength. You may run out of gas sooner than you should have. But like the eagle releases its wings to the direction of the wind and glides to a towering height, release yourself to God to work through you so that his glory can be revealed in and through you. The more of God's glory our lives reflect, the more glorious our destinies become and the more glory we attract to ourselves. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Know and trust Jesus as the source of your glory. Then release yourself to him and quit struggling to become. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you accomplish goals that reveal God's glory in your life. PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me to surrender to Your leading so that I could manifest glories without much effort. I quit any self struggle for results as I allow Jesus take over my affairs and cause my glory to spread to the ends of the earth, in Jesus name.
