Memory Verse: ‭‭ "And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs” - Exodus 4:17 NKJV Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭ 2 Kings 2:8‭, ‬14 NKJV 8. Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground. 14. Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. INSPIRATION: Winning in life comes easy when you follow superior strategies. God spoke to Moses, "And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs” - Exo. 4:17. The rod is your mantle, and has nothing to do with a physical stick, handkerchief or something physical. It is the Word of God. David tells us, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me" (Ps 23:4). There's no comfort one can derive from a piece of stick (rod) but you can enjoy endless comfort from the Word of God (Ps. 119:45-50; Heb. 13:5-6). Moses was told, "The rod in your hands is your only chance to do signs." Any miracle not traceable to the Word (Jesus) is a fraud. Take the word in your hands, bind it in your heart (Deu. 6:8; 11:18-19). If you want to operate in signs and miracles, get deeply rooted in the Word. When you strike any mountain with the Word, it will give way (Mk. 11:23). Elijah hit the water with the rod and it parted; Elisha did same, the waters rolled back. Same experience Moses had. The Word has never failed to produce results. If you're not getting results, you probably might not be applying the Word correctly or apllying enough of it. The Scriptural prescription for miracles is the right application of God's Word. Your ignorance of the Word limits your access to the miraculous. TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Get conversant with the Word; read and study the Word. Learn how to rightly apply the Word to troubling situations in your life. Develop and exercise faith in the Word, not in any physical expression of a mantle. PRAYER: Dear Lord, teach me how to prioritise the study and use of Your Word over everything else. As I take conscious steps towards walking in the supernatural, cause me to daily delight myself in the knowledge of God's Word by applying it to life's issues for divine results, in Jesus name.
