INSPIRE Devotionals With Emmanuel Afiawari Sunday, January 5, 2025 Topic: AUDACITY OF UNTAMED DESIRE (Part 2)! Bible Text: John 4:17-18 NKJV The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.” INSPIRATION: Sometimes, audacity is not always an open show of insensitive or tactless impetus, but the ability to wisely manoeuvre difficult choices to bring about a big win. There're some battles you can't win by physical strength but by the smart deployment of emotional intelligence, laced in an overdose of strategic wisdom. Audacity could be studying your obstacles to know the strengths, weaknesses and loopholes, and weaponising strategies that give you the advantage. At other times, audacity comes in the form of a positive mindset about your outcome, taking negative feedback in good fate and working hard to overcome future mistakes. Michael Jordan has this to say, "I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that's why I succeed." Positivity is not an arrogant dismissal of your mistakes but having the audacity to pick the lessons and try again. Zig Ziglar says, "Sometimes you fall down because there is something down there that you are supposed to find." Audacity is demonstrated in your resilience to stay in your fallen state but to keep grinding. This woman had to go through six men to get to the seventh one, Jesus! Audacity is not letting yesterday's failure be your limiting factor today; it is refusal to make excuses why you cannot reach for the stars. Audacity is having your goals or desire in your face that it refuses to be distracted by anything. If it means to endure humility or despise shame, your goal drives your resolve (Heb. 12: 2). Your desire should be able to fuel your passion with a life of its own; you should be so enamoured by your desire that you can boldly tell your 'Peter,' "Get behind me Satan" (Matt. 16: 23; Mark 8: 33). What are you audacious about that you could give anything to turn the tide in your favour? TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Desire separates daring people from mere speculators. Don't be a spectator in the movie you ought to be the main character! PRAYER: Oh Lord, I receive the grace and boldness to dare big and impossible goals. Wisdom and knowledge is imparted on me to compete favourably in the deep waters of business climate where opportunities and the wealth of the nations abound.
