This week Dr. Lionell Sabb joins the podcast to tell a historical account of his experiences while living in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Dr. Sabb shares details from 58 years ago that led up to the Orangeburg Massacre during the Civil Rights Movement.Standing on the SC State College campus that evening, Dr. Sabb recounts the events of February 8, 1968, and the night leading to the Orangeburg Massacre. The Orangeburg Massacre is a civil rights protest at SC State College that turned deadly when the State Police violently opened fire on about 200 unarmed black student protestors. Three were killed, and 28 students were injured.
