More than anything else, God’s unprompted and undeserved love for sinners – called “grace” – makes him who he is and sets him apart from other gods. Even before the law works in our hearts, God’s grace prompts him to come looking for us long before we ever find him. God’s grace is at the heart of what could easily serve as a mission statement for Jesus’ work as the Savior: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Praise be to God!
