My time as an admission officer at Vassar College are some of the happiest days of my career. The problem was, I hated denying more students than we could admit. It was like Sophie’s choice with each applicant.
I realized I could be and wanted to be of service to more families and help build the dreams of more students. So, I set out to become a college counselor at an elite private school in Los Angeles.
It came down to two schools where I was a finalist. The interview process at each private girls school could not have been more different. As my first introduction to the private school world, the experience was eye-opening for this public school girl.
