Listen "Unique Ways to Ask for Help in Dementia Care, and Life"

Episode Synopsis

This episode talks about how to ask for help, probably in a few ways and with tasks you never even thought would be helpful in dementia care, and even in your own life.
We talk about the myth of how much any one person "should" be able to handle, and how we need to change the narrative around needing assistance.
We touch on barriers many of us feel to asking for help, when we will accept help, and even discuss the "no casserole illness" phenomenon in mental illness. If you are neurodivergent (dementia and mental illness and other neurological conditions fall under the neurodivergent umbrella,) this episode may also help you.
We also chat about how often dementia care partners are trying to get help from professionals, but are not getting help they need, and suggestions on how to navigate that.
This episode is great for Alzheimer's caregivers, but also for anyone who is a caregiver, has a condition they need help with, or those who want to be the helpers.
