Listen "Orpheus and Eurydice"
Episode Synopsis
Drawing from inspiration of the 1950's Brazilian film Orpheus and Eurydice, this week's episode is a blend of sounds from "down south" (down south being the United States and latin America). The cool and breezin' sounds of the Caixa lead us into the procession of Samba and Bossa Nova songs. Their influence spreads up toward Canada as well where some jazz artists such as Emilie Claire-Barlow tries her hand at modernizing the traditional Brazilian sound. Also on this playlist as some doo-wop tunes and R&B oldies.
