Until this time, the earth was “formless and empty.” Darkness was everywhere.   There is so much we cannot comprehend about how our world came into existence, but in Genesis, God reveals what He wants us to know: He created. On the first day of creation, God spoke, and light appeared. This was not the sun’s light because the sun was not created until the fourth day.
