NOVEMBER 25 - Staying Planted in the Right Soil3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 28:19–20; Psalm 135; Joshua 13–14//3-Year Bible Devotional Book Available on Amazon//________________________________________“Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty. A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” — Proverbs 28:19–20“For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.” — Psalm 135:5“So now, give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day… It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the Lord said.” — Joshua 14:12________________________________________There’s something powerful about someone who stays faithful through the long haul. In Joshua 14, Caleb is 85 years old, yet he’s still as bold and faithful as he was when he first spied out the promised land. He reminds Joshua of the promise God made to him and says, “Give me that hill country.” He’s not chasing fame or fortune—he’s pursuing the purpose God gave him. That same theme shows up in Proverbs 28, where we’re reminded to “work our land,” stay faithful, and not be swayed by quick fixes or shallow pursuits. And in Psalm 135, we’re reminded why we can trust this path: because our God is above all others—strong, sovereign, and worthy of praise. The question is: are we staying planted in God’s soil, trusting His timing, or chasing after “worthless pursuits”?________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Faith Over Flash: What does it mean to "work your land" today? Maybe it’s studying hard, practicing kindness, or sticking with a goal God has given you, even when it’s tough. Where in your life are you tempted to take shortcuts?2. God Is Worthy: Psalm 135 reminds us that God is above all. What would change in your life if you truly believed God is greater than everything you’re facing—your fears, your goals, or even your dreams?3. Be Like Caleb: Caleb didn’t let age, obstacles, or the opinions of others stop him from holding on to God’s promises. What promises has God made in His Word that you need to hold on to more tightly today?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEFaithfulness may not always feel flashy, but it always leads to blessing. When we trust God’s timing, stay rooted in His purpose, and believe He is above all, we position ourselves to live boldly—just like Caleb.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for being greater than anything I face. Help me to be faithful like Caleb, to work the land You’ve given me, and to stay rooted in Your purpose for my life. I don’t want to chase worthless things—I want to live for what really matters. Strengthen me to trust You day by day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
