Episode Synopsis

EPISODE 63
BEERS: You already know what time it is...fall beer season.  Will takes it to Newport Craft to try Ungourdly Hour. You’d think this sounds like a lighter pumpkin beer, but this Strong Ale is certainly off the beaten path for fall beverages. Spicy and strong, this 9.5% beer is an interesting choice as we head into the fall months. More traditional pumpkin beer lovers might identify more with Jake’s review, as he breaks down Shipyard’s “Smashed Pumpkin” in the Pugsley Signature Series.  Still standing strong at 9%, Jake takes a stab at the perfect formula for a pumpkin beer.
BUSINESS: Everyone knows the name Marvel. Whether it was the movies, the comics, or the action figures, Marvel was more than likely in your life as a child.  Now, Marvel is taking the motion picture scene by storm; Shang-Chi is now the top-grossing movie in North America ($187m), just ahead of Black Widow, which dominated the box office for a good chunk of the year.  Is Marvel the best motion picture company ever? How much will movies rally this year? Will this raise Disney stock ($DIS) even further? We discuss the impact Marvel has had on the movie scene and beyond.
BALLS: (20:11) Two-time Super Bowl champion Dan Koppen and former MLB draft selection Tip Fairchild join the show.  The two former pros join the show to discuss their new venture, the “Past Our Prime” podcast, presented by Squadlocker. We take a journey down the path of Dan’s decorated career as an Pro Bowl offensive lineman with the New England Patriots, having his number retired at the same high school as Saquon Barkley, and break down what makes Tom Brady so great.  We talk baseball shop with Tip, including his professional experience playing for Sparky Lyle, alongside Roger Clemens, and his favorite moments of his career.
