On Sunday 23rd June 2024, Bedrock Radio invited volunteers past and present to our 'The Cornwall Suite' Studios at Queen's Hospital to tell us their stories of how they got involved in hospital radio. Looking back at our heritage stations that began back in the 1960s
On-Air; Bedrock's longest current serving volunteers Beverley and Mathew hosted a joint two-day weekend special. Chatting with various current and ex-volunteers from founding stations across the decades.

Beverley and Mat welcome you to Day 2 of our Hospital Radio in East London programme.
Chris joins us today, and tells us about his time volunteering with both Bedrock and Goodmayes (Jumbo Sound), and how he ended up back at Bedrock.
Danny and Mat have a chat about when they started in Hospital Radio, - Danny was the one who processed Mat's volunteer application! And talk about how patients listened in to Bedrock AM.
Plus, remember the grand opening of the studio at Queen's Hospital, when we became 'The Cornwall Suite'.
Orlagh and Bev have a chat about Bedrock in recent years,
Liz tells us more about Rush Green and Oldchurch radio, and Helen shares her memories of Bedrock, Goodmayes and what got her interested in radio.
Later, Rob and Jacqui join Bev for a final reminisce about Harold Wood Radio and the early Bedrock AM days. Before Barry joins us to tell us why he got involved with hospital radio.
