Episode Synopsis

Austin interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon [cha-KOHN] has accepted the position on a permanent basis after a nationwide search that began with Chacon as a long shot to take over a department under scrutiny. The appointment of Chacon was announced Wednesday by City Manager Spencer Cronk. This is the second time Cronk has gone with an in-house candidate; he selected then-interim Police Chief Brian Manley to lead the department in 2018.
