Please view the video entitled “Keep My Commandments Summarized” before viewing this teaching: https://youtu.be/k7fUP105dLM?si=hnQbSUUg3t5JUYgVThe Flesh (Sarx): A New Flesh and the New CovenantIn this continuation of the series on the Greek word **sarx** ("flesh"), the speaker examines the profound meaning of Jesus's words about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. The message draws on **John 6** to explain that Jesus's flesh, unlike our own, was the "true receptacle of life" and was fully filled with God. The video refutes the idea that Jesus was a "robot" who was not tempted like we are, and instead argues that he fought the good fight by only walking by the Spirit, setting an example for us to follow. The speaker also draws on the concept of the **New Covenant** to explain that our old flesh has to die, and in return, we receive a "new flesh" from Christ. This new flesh, which is what we receive in communion, has the potential to be filled with God's life, and is the foundation of our new life in the Spirit.* The flesh (sarx) is the receptacle of the life of God.* Jesus came with the flesh and was tempted like we are; he was not a "robot."* The bread that Jesus offered for the world to eat was his **sarx** (flesh), not his **soma** (body).* The purpose of the law is to give us the knowledge of sin.* The old flesh must die because there is nothing good in it.* The New Covenant gives us a new flesh—the flesh of Jesus—which has the potential to be filled with God's life.* The resurrection of Jesus means that our flesh was also raised from the dead, and we have the potential to receive a new **sarx**.The video concludes by asserting that the Christian life is not about trying to be a better person through our own fleshly efforts, but about receiving God's Word, which changes our mind and our will, and is a process of being "delivered over to death" to our old self so that Christ's life can be manifested in our mortal flesh. The ultimate takeaway is that we were created weak on purpose so that we would choose to rely on the life of God in us rather than our own strength. It is only when we receive Jesus's new flesh and are filled with the Holy Spirit that we can truly live the life that He intended for us.#Sarx #TheFlesh #BiblicalTruth #DrMichaelDavis #Theology #John6 #NewCovenant #HolySpiritSarx...
