DAY 4
The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! - Zechariah 3:1
PRAYER INTENTION
Begin to pray concerning your own prayer list.
Behold the Cross of the Lord! Be gone all evil powers! The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David has conquered! Alleluia! Come O Holy Spirit and illuminate us- let your glory inside us come alive, let your anointing inside us come alive, let your power inside us come alive- help us to win like we are born to do, we make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen
Why did God rebuke Satan? Because Joshua was a brand plucked out of fire, the meaning of fire here is judgment, so God allowed Joshua to experience judgement for a season and the reason was because of the filthy garments he had acquired. So when we say he was plucked out of fire it meant he had completed a circle of judgement, and the devil even though he felt he had legal ground, coming into the justice system of God, once the filthy garment was removed Satan had no legal ground to hold him because he had fulfilled the requirements of justice.
Listen to the spirit of God speaking through my voice to you, the reason why you passed downtown is so that the legalities around certain legitimacies that Satan secured to manipulate your life will be undone so that you can WIN like you were born to do. God allowed you to pass through a season of reproach but now- liberation, freedom has come because of God's love and what Jesus Christ did on the cross so what do you say, “the lord rebuke you, Satan” God has plucked you out of fire and the legitimacy that the kingdom of darkness is exploiting to plunder your life is also removed from your head in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, listen I am not just talking, I am speaking under the authority of Jesus Christ.
Zechariah 3:2b says “even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?” Put your name there, put your families name there, put the name of your child, husband, wife, brother and sister and say even the Lord has chosen me. You my dear friend are chosen, the bible says in 1 Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” . You now see why we have the audacity to call on the Lord to Rebuke Satan; you are CHOSEN, what did I say is the answer? “The Lord rebuke you, Satan”. If you are an enterprising Christian you must not forget, the prayer phrase- “the Lord rebuke you Satan, stay away from my family, from my life, from everything I care about.
Now that we have set the tone for the conference let’s talk about the book of Job briefly. I am aware that you understand to some extent the book of Job. The book of Job was written when the revelations of God were in its cradle. The way God operates is that he begins with a little stream and then as the subsequent people that receive the baton bear witness to God, the streams increase. So in the beginning before civilization solidified, the revelations of God were in its cradle and the people that gave direction to humanity at that time were called the Cardinals.
The Cardinals were the custodians of philosophy and in those days it happened that there were 4 cardinals, Job happened to be one of them, the rest are Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. Each of the Cardinals were territorial Lords over the East, West, North and South regions of the earth.
So when things happened that beat the imagination of people and humans wanted understanding they will go to one of the cardinals responsible for their region for clarity, explanation and understanding and he brings out his philosophy and explains the reason why those things have taken place and gives advice- He may say things like “if you want this kind of thing to stop or if you want this solution you should consider doing that” - so it was through the wisdom that this cardinals manifested that culture, society and sociology was built around. They were very significant entities in their realms-
so this was how life was lived until one day one of the cardinals named Job was afflicted –
Job happened to be the custodian of the east, meaning he was the one who was to bring perspective on perplexing issues facing his constituents in the eastern side of the world. Now this man who was to bring perspective was afflicted terribly beyond what any human had ever seen or experienced in that dispensation, if only he knew this phrase “The Lord Rebuke you, Satan”. Because his own very affliction was caused by Satan ooh. Job 1:6 -12 reads “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.”
Oh Job, Bikom ndo, if only you knew this prayer phrase “THE LORD REBUKE you, satan”
This events called for a convocation of the three other cardinals to investigate the causative factors responsible for the predicament of their fellow cardinal and diagnose solutions. “Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him. And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven. So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.” - Job 2:11-13
I don’t want to take you further down this road or we will go off course and begin another conference but suffice to say that each of this cardinals had their own philosophical position , [if you have some time check Job chapters 4, 8, 11] for Cardinal Job his own position was that of self-righteousness . So, you will notice that in Jobs argument of self-defenses' as to what he did wrong - he postulated that he had done nothing wrong to qualify him for the kind of adversity he was undergoing.
Stay with me, like I said earlier on the revelations of God were in its cradle- so the reasons why God will allow someone that was devoted to him to suffer was not yet fully known. You should know those were the days when doctrine was according to karma. In fact one of the cardinals philosophy was based on personal merit that everything that happens to you was based on your good efforts, if some bad happened then it was as a result of a curse, let me not spend time showing you the philosophical position of the other cardinals as that is not my point of emphasis.
Fast forward, In the New Testament we now understand that it is not all suffering that are signs of a broken covenant with God, in fact there are times when suffering can actually be a sign that you are in sync with God. Jesus authored our salvation through suffering and there is a measure of it that everyone of us will bear in the administration of God’s purposes on the surface of the earth, But this knowledge was not there in the time of Job. So they were trying to understand what it was that was responsible for Cardinal Jobs condition. The wisdom behind Jobs affliction was so deep that the cardinals did not have sufficient depth to decipher it. After several attempts they were forced to allow God to bring perspective in Job 38.
So the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind. Notice that when God appeared the first thing he did was to rebuke- God felt irritated when the Cardinals spoke- [and those were the scholars of the time] God was irritated because there was no spiritual depth in the perspective they brought to the issue. God said “Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?” What does it mean for a counsel to be darkened - it means Job and his cardinal friends were speaking words that was not rooted in spiritual knowledge.
Can you begin to see the trouble that can result when someone sets up a church and he doesn’t have spiritual knowledge he will darken counsel, lead you astray and destroy you.
