Autumn Karen is an award-winning filmmaker, journalist, ghostwriter, and educator dedicated to elevating traditionally unheard stories. As an English faculty member at High Point University, an Honors Fellow at UNC Greensboro, and a longtime contributor to Triad City Beat, she brings deep expertise and authenticity to her work. Her acclaimed career as a journalist, author, and screenwriter centers on powerful themes including systemic oppression, grief, and complex societal relationships. Over the last decade, Autumn has co-authored several notable books, including Mississippi Still Burning: From Hoods to Suits — the story of a Black preacher who took over the KKK from prison — and Amy: Book One, an empowerment erotica novel published through the University of Pleasure. Autumn's award-winning short screenplay, Infinity Care, draws from her personal experience of losing a daughter to epilepsy. She is also the founder of Medusa's Gaze, a development and distribution company focused on amplifying the voices of women and gender-diverse creators. With her unique blend of storytelling, activism, and education, Autumn Karen continues to create impactful work that challenges narratives and uplifts marginalized voices.
